Membership of the Institute is divided into four (5) categories:

Members of Good Standing for the year 2010 can be found here
(a) Fellows (FCE)
(b) Chartered Economists (CE)
(c) Associate Chartered Economists (ACE)
(d) Member Economists (ME)
(e) Student Member Economists (SME)


DIRECT MEMBERSHIP / REQUIREMENTS FOR ADMISSION
The following persons are qualified for admission as Members of the Institute:

(a) Those who hold a valid Chartered Economists Certificate issued by the Institute;
(b) Those who have passed an examination in economics and related subjects satisfactory to the Board of Directors and Council at an accredited University or College of Technology;
(c) Those who are engaged in the practice of economics as proprietors, partners, or as employees who have been licensed as Chartered Economists for more than two years and are practising in firms enrolled in Institute approved monitoring programmes;
(d) Those who have passed the examinations of the approved professional bodies.
(e) To qualify as an associate member of the Institute, the holder of a Graduate Diploma is expected to sit and pass the Associate Qualifying Professional Examination (PEIII) of the Institute.

Qualified and interested candidate should first download the Membership Registration form here, fill and submit to the nearest office with Membership form fee of GHC35.00. (See contact page for Administrative office).

PROFESSIONAL EXAMINATION
The professional examinations of the Institute (ICEG) (all parts) are held June and December.
Only registered students of the Institute who have paid their Annual Subscriptions and the special levy up to date are eligible to apply for the examinations. Candidates will be required to register for the present diet of the professional examinations by downloading the examination registration form, fill and submit to the nearest office.

ENTRY REQUIREMENT
B.Sc, B.Ed, M.Sc, B.A. Economics, B.Sc, M.Sc, MBA. Accounting, Banking & Finance, Statistics, Insurance, Agric-Economics, Economics & Statistic, Maths & Statistics, etc, ND, HND Accounting, Banking & Finance, Business Admin, Marketing, etc, NCE in any management courses.

Note : Subject to subject exemptions is granted to holders of O.N.D, N.C.E, H.N.D or B.Sc, based on the relevance of their course of study
